Films

From the film Australia – “”You got no love in your heart…you got nothing.”

Films that have helped me release some pain:

Burning Man -an amazing film about painful life experiences, losing love, addictions and avoidance.

Shame – a painful film about addictions and a descent into misery rather than feeling.

Hachi: A Dog’s Tale (Loss of Love and Waiting to be Loved.)

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. (About how we run away from our pain, how difficult it is to experience it and what happens when we do.)

Mother and Child. (The ramifications of abandonment and how it echoes through the generations. Also reflects on unprocessed shame and guilt and softening.)

Films that have helped me with my feelings about God:

Les Miserables (2013) : A fabulousa film on all levels but I really enjoyed the contrast between the forgiving merciful God and the hard wrathful unchanging God of the two main male characters.

Films that have helped me experience fear:

Martha Marcy May Marlene: A film about a survivor from an abusive cult.
